Sheikh Ahmed Tidjani

May ALLAH be satisfied with him

Abu Abdallah Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was an excellent devotee, majestically pious and blessed. The face of this rigorous follower of the path was illuminated by the signs of Spiritual Opening.

He received the Tariqa from the hands of Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) to whom he had abandoned all self-will and for whom he felt deep love; to such an extent that he could not bear to be separated even an instant from his master and that he abandoned his professional occupation in order to stay constantly in his company.

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was a silk maker. One day, his mother went to see Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) and said to him: “O Sidi, (these days) my son rarely visits me or all his children. I have come to request your help so that he returns to work.” When the audience with his mother was over and she had left, Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) called Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him). He also called for bread, honey and melted butter, and having taken a small part himself, he offered it to his companion. When Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) had finished eating, Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) spoke to him of his worldly situation, saying: “Go and do your job , and only come to see me at the time of the Wazifa. Indeed, the wird (morning and evening Lazim) and the wazifa are sufficient for you. Do not leave your family dependent on others.”

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) went back to work and from his place of work, he received the spiritual opening. Since then, he used to join Seyyidina Ahmed Tidjani (may ALLAH sanctify his precious secret) at the time of the Wazifa.

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) was very modest towards his master, and as a result was unable to raise his eyes before him.

Sidi Muhammad Salassi (may ALLAH be pleased with him) died in 1271 of the Hegira, may ALLAH cover him with his approval.
