Sidi Ahmed Baniss (May ALLAH be satisfied with him)

Sidi Ahmed Baniss (May ALLAH Be Pleased with him) is the striving Imam, the scrupulous devout, the pious ascetic and he is mentioned among the elite companions of Seyyidina Ahmed Tijani (May ALLAH Sanctifies his precious secret). Those who drank in Seyyidina's pool.

He was a profound lover of Seyyidina (May ALLAH Sanctifies his precious secret) and from whom he often asked for to be blessed with the vision of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in the state of wakefulness or of sleep. Seyyidina promise him this visison.

It was reported that Sidi Ahmed Baniss (May ALLAH Be Pleased with him) fell very sick during the lifetime of Seyyidina Ahmed Tijani (May ALLAH Sanctifies his precious secret). One day he fainted and remained in that condition for so long that his family believed that he was dead and started mourning and crying. Unexpectedly, he woke up and told them:

"Why are you crying? I am safe and sound and I will not die now. I saw myself in front of Seyyidina Ahmed Tijani (May ALLAH Be Pleased with him) in the blessed Zawiya (in Fez). He took me by hand to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him), and then Seyyidina said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O! Messenger of ALLAH, this is my companion who asked to meet you". The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and put his noble hand on my shoulder and told me: "From now on, all is well for you, and when your time will come, we will send to fetch you"

On these words, his family's sadness was replaced by joy and happiness. After this event, he lived several more years before passing away. Having obtained what he requested from Seyyidina Ahmed Tijani (May ALLAH Sanctifies his precious secret), may ALLAH honors him with His Mercy.
