Sidi Bilal (May ALLAH be satisfied with him)
The truthful, the sincere, and owner of strong respect for the religion's prescriptions such is Sidi Bilal (May Allah Be Pleased with him). He heartfully served with love Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret). He was steadfast in his constant love for Sayyidina and his loved ones, always longing for to please him.
Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) once was going out of town accompanied by Sidi Bilal (May Allah Be Pleased with him) and other companions. Suddenly, he caught sight of a sick animal thrown on a pile of garbage. When he questioned about its owner, he was told that the later abandoned his sick animal to die in order to be free from any disturbance of moaning that it may cause.
Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) then said: "And thus leaving it to starve, that is prohibited". He then turned to Bilal (May Allah Be Pleased with him) and said: "O Bilal! May Allah Protects you! Bring some food and drink to feed this animal until its death". And Sidi Bilal (May Allah Be Pleased with him) never left the animal without food and drink until Allah decreed its death.
Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) had a deep love for Sidi Bilal (May Allah Be Pleased with him) because of the purity of his secret and the fact that he carried the same name as the servant of the Prophet (PBUH), our master Bilal (May Allah Be Pleased with him). Sayyidina (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) often said to his servant: "Bilal, spend and fear not that the Owner of the Throne will limit your goods"; thus reminding what the Prophet (PBUH) said to his famous companion.
Sayyidina (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) one day, went to pay Sultan Maulana Suleiman (May Allah Sanctifies his secret) a visit. Sidi Bilal was to the right of Sayyidina (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) and an other servant to his left. Two highly nobles and descendants of the Prophet (PBUH) who were in the Sultan's Court, upon caughting sight of Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret), stated among themselves in secret:"By Allah! Tidjani is part of the signs of Allah! (Meaning that he is established in the Holiness)". Then they kept silent. When Sayyidina (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) reached them, they got up to greet him; and he replied by unveiling their secret. Indeed, he (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) said "Say: By Allah! Tidjani is the greatest sign of Allah! (Which means that he is the Seal : he has reached the height of Holiness)". He repeated it several times. The two nobles were astonished and became firmed in their belief in the holiness of Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret). Later both of them joined the Tariqa.
