Life of Sidi Muhammad Bouhassouna

Sidi Muhammad Bouhassouna (May ALLAH be satisfied with him)

The recipient of high blessings and noble characters such is Sidi Mohammed Buhassuna El Madawi (May Allah Be Pleased with him). This majestic man is one of the more deserving among the companions of Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret), who progressed rapidly in great steps due to the purity of their attachment and the sincerity of their love.

Sayyidina (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) granted him the Muqademship (authorization) to transmit the bay'a/initiation to Tariqa Ahmediya in `Ain Madhi and in all its surroundings. He was famous for his great holiness and his brilliant knowledge. He was an expert of the construction industry and was renowned for his irreproachable honesty.

It was in his habits to accept working for an employer only on the condition that there is an agreement that he can attend group prayers on time. He will work for the one who accept this condition and reject any work offer that does not respect this condition even if offered huge wage.

He was the builder of the first floor and the famous retreat room for Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani's (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) in 'Aïn Madhi and in Bussemghun too. Over there, his tomb was well known to people. May Allah Honors him with His Mercy.

Here is the extract from a letter addressed by Sayyidina (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret) to the people of 'Aïn Madhi, following numerous conflicts that occurred between them and the Bey:

"As regard to the affair which opposes you to the Bey, pay attention to the following, for my advice is like that from a loving father to his children. In case you would accept my advice, then hasten to meet the Bey and give him the sum which is due to him. Don't fight him, there will be no good for you to fight him."

Here I inform you of the hidden secrets that were revealed to me from among the secrets of Divine Sciences and of which neither you, nor we had access. Our Lord – Exalted is He – by His Decision, has indeed decreed that all the inhabitants of the desert will be afflicted with a punishment to compensate for their excess disobedience and their lack of repentance for it, and their acceptance of propagation of injustice and perversions everywhere without punishment.

Allah's Decree in this matter has been already made and there is no way out, certainly both you and we are overpowered by Allah's Order and we are incapable of preserving Allah's creatures against His calamity, for all decisions and decrees belong to Him. He Makes His orders triumphal and His promises accomplished as said in His Book by His Word: "He who will cause evil, will be rewarded consequently" and His Word: "One who cause evil of the weight of an atom will see it" and His Word: "Those who commit sins will be rewarded only according to their deeds".

It is reported in Sahih Boukhari according to Oum Salama (May Allah Be Pleased with her) and Zaïnab bint Jahch (May Allah Be Pleased with her) that the Prophet (BPUH) said: " There is no other Divinity except Allah! Woe unto the Arabs for a calamity which is near ". His spouse then asked him: " What did you mean, ô messenger of Allah? ". He replied: " The Yajouj and Majouj made a hole as this circle (he drew a circle with his thumb and his index) ". Then she asked him: " But how would we perish while the pious are living among us? ". He answered: " Yes, this is possible when evil/debauchment becomes widespread! Thus, the Prophet (PBUH) informed us that the presence of saints among us will not prevent calamities resulting from the widespread of sins.

I caution you therefore against opposing the Bey or fighting him, because doing so will be a reason for Allah to trigger off calamity against all those who will combat the Bey. This shows that the calamity will reach all regions, cities and villages in the land of desert sparing no one. Therefore this calamity will inevitably touch you and you will not be able to ward it off.

I exhort you not to be lured by your numerous battles victories over those who fought against you in your city, for these battles took place before the region wide calamity was decreed. Now that it has been extended to everyone and that Divine Will settled, your only option is to submit to Allah's Commands and to endure with patience until deliverance comes from Allah. Furthermore, accept Allah's Decree, for opposing it will only cause you to be afflicted with an enormous trial which will be unbearable to you. Finally, do not incline to the words of those who reject this advice, because nothing can obstruct/prevent Allah's Order.

Allah says: " And when Allah Wills a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back " (Surat 13 thunder, verse 11). Indeed this affair is from Allah and you have no capacity to turn it back, therefore abandon all thoughts of rebellion and opposition to, and indulge only in actions to better your rapport with the Bey. Don't stand against Allah's Order.

I had given you some advice before, then the Divine Order appeared to me in vision and what I perceived is unavoidable. Therefore, in case you decide to act against my advice, you will bound yourself to perdition; the calamity will befall upon you without a possibility of repelling it, except if show patience and devote yourself in actions that correct the situation between you and the Bey, otherwise what I said will come into sight.

Reflect on your own rescue before calamity/perdition shows up, and here is my advice if you would pay attention to my words; regarding the above mentioned affair, I provide you with some advice, but after that, it was revealed to me from the world of hidden sciences (El Ghayb) what I had not known. I certainly heard this from the "Tongue" of the Divine Decree: "You desire to oppose the Divine Decision in order to repel the calamity that Allah Wants to afflict His creatures with, but can you immunize them against committing sins? Know therefore that every sin requires a punishment ". I therefore gave away acknowledging my impotence and my limits, and submitting myself to His Decision towards His creatures.

Servants of Allah! Servants of Allah! Servants of Allah! Do not disobey what I said. I also inform you that whenever I receive a command to pass it on to someone either to do something or to refrain doing something for his/her own good, and every time the recipient disregard my advice, he/she is afflicted with a punishment according to the importance the Divine Oder. This has proved to be the case always. If Allah decrees your reconciliation with the Bey by dissipating the issues which oppose you, then provide me with a mean of transportation and, I would come to visit/see you. I am unable to remove the calamity decreed by Allah upon His creatures, and this owing to their sins ".

Remark/Comment: May Allah Honors us with His Mercy. Let's notice how certain was the truthfulness of the content of this letter which was proven after the death of Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secrets), when people, at this time, disregarded Sayyidina advice and then came up destruction of the city of 'Aïn Madhi. This reveals that Allah's Order was a pre-ordained decree.
