Sidi Ali Chtiwi (May ALLAH be satisfied with him)

The Great who attained the knowledge of Allah, the famous waly (friend of Allah), the Majdhoub (insane by his love for Allah) travelling to Allah, the authentic Cherif (Descendant of the Prophet PBUH) Abou-l-Hassan Sidi 'Ali ibn Chtiwi is a native of Jerid (Tunisia).

He was famous for his holiness and his high knowledge was manifest. He often met the spirit the Sheikh in Chari'a and Tariqa, the source of secrets and realities, our master 'Abdul Qadir Jilani (May Allah Be Pleased with Him) from whom he received initiation of his Tariqa.

Hunting was his occupation; one day while hunting a gazelle with all his attention on his prey, appeared before him Sheikh 'Abdul Qadir Jilani (May Allah Be Pleased with him) saddled on his horse. He was embarrassed that his Sheikh found him in such a situation.

They started discussing and our personage inquired the Sheikh: "O my master, we heard about a Sheikh that came to Boussemghun (city where Sayyidina Ahmed Tijani had received The High Spiritual Opening), what do you say about him?"

He answered to his inquiry: "O my son, he is the tree under which shadow all of us find shelter." Hearing this caused Sidi 'Ali ibn Chtiwi to affiliate himself with Sayyidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah Sanctifies his precious secret).
