Sidi Hajj Tayeb Qabab (May ALLAH be satisfied with him)
Sidi Hajj Taib Qabab (May Allah be pleased with him) is a blessed and deserving man, the perfect Waly, the supreme guide who saved the blind as well as the clairvoyant, the one who gleaned the high qualities dispersed among other people, the man who Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret) cherished amongst all the brothers, the man who is the majestic Muqadem.
He belongs to the top ranking elite among the companions of Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret) and to the group of the persons who were authorized by Seidina (May Allah sanctify his precious secret) to spread the noble Wird throughout the world. He also belongs to the group of those who benefited from his peculiar respect and comparison. He used to make commendations about him near the other brothers, and sometimes when he wrote to them, he would single him out by referring to him in a very particular way as he would not mention anybody else except for him.
Our beloved Sidi Hajj Taib Qabab (May Allah be pleased with him) was wholly dedicated to the daily routine and commandments of Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret). He was as close to Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret) as the dead body is in the hands of the person who cleanses it before burial. He is part of the forerunners, i.e., those who were the first at the beginning of the 13th century of Hegira.
The letter that was dictated to Sidi Mohamed ibn Mechri (May Allah be pleased with him) is among those that Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret) used to send out. The letter reads as follows:
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Exalted and may Allah's Grace and Peace be upon the Prophet. From the hands of the scribe and lawmaker Sidi Mohamed ibn Mechri (May Allah be pleased with him):
From our Master and guide to the attention of all the disciples of Fez, after asking Allah's peace as well as His grace and clemency to be upon you:
We ask Allah (may His might be exalted) to pour on you oceans of good things and good grace, and to be your shield against seen and invisible evils and mishaps. May He drown your sins in His ocean of Forgiveness and Generosity, and may He watch over you in this world and the Hereafter with His Graciousness, His Love and His Boundless Care. May He allow you to reach your end on this earth in the same bliss like the Allies of Allah (the Awliya) and may He protect you in dire situations with His Caring Glance, His Salvation and Candidness, as He is the Ever-Able in everything.
The whole invocation, from beginning to end, is from Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret), to the attention of all the brothers. I did not add a single letter to it. We ask Allah to make us part of this community. Ameen.
I insist that you consider very well Sidi Hajj Taib Qabab (May Allah be pleased with him) because we mandated him to represent us among you in order that people might benefit from him.
Whoever gets close to him will have gotten closer to us, and will have secured something from us. Whoever approaches him will enjoy everything that was heralded to those who were closely associated with us through the true promise that will certainly be delivered on. May peace be upon you."
Here is an excerpt of another letter that Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret) addressed them:
"Praised be Allah the Most Exalted, and holy are His Names, and boundless are His Nobility and His Majesty. Peace as well as Allah's Grace and His Blessings be upon you. The present letter is sent by Ahmed ibn Mohamed Tidjani (May Allah sanctify his precious secret), who loves you dearly:
"Praised be Allah, the Dispenser of favors, because you are well and in good health. We ask Allah to grant you His agreement and make you accept whatever happens to you, and we ask Him to accept you with His Grace and Agreement in this world and the Hereafter. May He guide you whenever you walk astray, and may He help you reach the summum before the people He loves and lavish you with His favors and prodigies, and may He write you down among the Iliyyine next to the Prophet (May Allah's Grace and Peace be upon him). Ameen.
We had sent you some advice though our beloved Sidi 'Arbi el Acchab about how to get help in this world and in the Hereafter. Welcome them wholeheartedly and put them to use and you will be spared the tiredness of enduring concerns and worries for this world, take your pain and worries to Him who knows best how to take care of them, and He who does what He wills and how He wills.
Be kind to one another and help one another in piety. Stay away from sinning and aggression and be aware that one day you will leave this life and your family too, devoid of any goods. And the deposit will, without fail, come back on the Reckoning Day, the day during which it will be restored. Therefore, do not be jealous of one another, and avoid bickering. Be Allah's servants, brothers. Whoever loves his brother in Allah out of faith must seize his brother's hand and help him, for this is a fruitful trade, the highest of all levels, the way Allah loves and the most honoured and purest quality..."
