Life of Sidi Muhammad ibn Abbas Semghouni

Sidi Muhammad ibn Abbas Semghouni (May ALLAH be satisfied with him)

He is part of the specific Mouqadam of Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (may Allah sanctify his valuable secret) who had the authorization to transmit the prayers of this Mohamadiya Tariqa in his time. He was elevated to a respectable place next to him and this owing to his love, his compassion and his entrenchment in this Tariqa.

He is one of the men of great merit whose station collided with the station of Sidi Mohamed ibn Mechri (may Allah be satisfied with him), and both were suffering from excessive mutual jealousy and were in a fierce competition that this state spread among the brothers in Boussemghoune and they separated into two parties.

When this information reached Seidina Ahmed Tidjani's ears (may Allah sanctify his valuable secret), he asked them what was the cause, they said: "Mohamed ibn Abbas is jealous of Mechri and Mechri is jealous of Mohamed ibn Abbas , jealousy then became widespread among the supporters of both. "

Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (may Allah sanctify his valuable secret) told them: "My companions are only one, and the one who knows me, he knows me alone." Since then, the brothers united as a single man and the jealousy turned away from them. Of course, one should be careful not to have a bad opinion of them, because these are reasons that appear to explain the secret of education and proper monitoring.

All the inhabitants of Boussemghoune had an intense love towards Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (may Allah sanctify his valuable secret) so much so that when Seidina (may Allah sanctify his valuable secret) left the village, they all wanted to go with him and abandon their region because of him, wishing to live only in the place he would have chosen.

Seidina Ahmed Tidjani (may Allah sanctify his invaluable secret) told them in this connection:

"Know that a Wali leaves a place only if his heart has changed towards the inhabitants of that place. As for your case, if I leave your place it is not for this reason but for something else, because I love your old as well as your youngsters. I will always love you and if all of you were in a basket without a grip to seize it, I would take you in my arms and I will cross the Sirat Bridge that way."
Then, he ordered them to remain in their city and they complied with his order.
